The start of Down Under On Route66. Today everyone arrived into LAX. The early birds at 6am were treated to breakfast at Dinah's before a quick trip to Venice Beach.
Swinging back through Westcheser we armed our crew with US SIM cards, dived into In 'N' Out for a quick burger meal and then Budget for our Mustangs. Six different colours, done deal and by 1645 we headed out into the peak hour traffic to Costa Mesa for our first of many overnights. But not before a stop at Stillen where ex pat Kiwi Steve Millen showed us through his sports parts facility.
Dinner was on exclusive Balboa Island at Wilma's Patio and a very long day for our travellers was capped off with the island specialty - the Balboa Bar - an ice cream sensation.
