Day 15 - Fun City

It's been around since 1972 and is a one of the original eateries on the strip. The Peppermill Restaurant is open 24/7 and has all the glitz and glamour you'd expect in this part of the world.

The Premium Outlet Shopping mall got a visit from the girls while the boys shot off to have a look at the Shelby American display and workshops.

On the other side of town is the Las Vegas Speedway.

Here Chris and Warwick were let loose in a Ferrari and a Lamborghini at Exotic Racing Cars.

Some of us snuk around the back of the oval track and looked in at where all the Nascar action happens in Las Vegas and then joined the girls at the Outlets for lunch and their own short shop!

Next stop was the Machine Gun Range where Ray and Rex blew holes (with reasonable accuracy) in various sized targets using a 9mm Glock and a powerful M4 semi-automatic.

From shooting to skooting it was Chris' turn to blow everyone away at dinner when he commandeered an unsuspecting fellow diners mobile scooter and proceeded to race between the tables around the Outback Steakhouse under the watchful eye of a couple of heavy duty bouncers.

He might have got an earful but it was Rex who got an eyeful after running fowl of the local law but he got his just deserts and all it cost Donna was $10 for bail (for a couple of photos as evidence).

Back to the Linq we then had a surprise pick up by a stretched Hummer and toured downtown to the old district and the Golden Nugget.

The world's largest outdoor screen spanning a couple of blocks bringing the whole place alive.

It was a long day, with hardly any miles under our belt but a great break from travelling... a first for many on this tour, visiting Vegas and certainly an eye opener for everyone.

It's back on the road tomorrow.
